Process Engineer – Entry Level

Summary/Objective

Provide high quality process engineering consulting services to our clients. The Process Engineer is expected to work and assist in all aspects of process systems design. In addition, the incumbent must also be able to develop and prepare detailed equipment specifications, initial concepts and scopes of work, construction cost estimates and engineering support. As a Process Engineer, the employee is expected to follow company work processes and standards to maintain a high-quality work product and work in a collaborative team environment with other Engineers from various disciplines and the Designer/Drafting team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Work closely with Senior Engineer/Mentor to do the following:

  • Define, organize, execute, and coordinate engineering assignments for clients, primarily in the fuel and chemical distribution and manufacturing industries.
  • Foster relations with existing clients and develop new client base
  • Perform engineering design for client projects including but not limited to piping systems, pump hydraulics, tank and vessels, heat transfer equipment, controls equipment, and process equipment.
  • Develop project deliverables for clients including PFDs, P&IDs, Heat and Mass Balances, Basis of Design, Schedules, Project Estimates, Bid Documents, Equipment Specifications, etc.
  • Plan and organize project work for multidisciplinary team including electrical designers, mechanical designers, civil/structural designers, procurement and administrative staff supporting those assignments.
  • Research, design, and specify equipment, controls, and processes for chemical, mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, and other industrial systems.
  • Provide on-site construction management assistance during installation, commissioning and start-up of equipment and related systems.
  • Travel required and dependent on project and client needs (expected to be less than 10%)

Qualifications – Required:

  • Experience with key duties and responsibilities described above, including experience from past internships or co-ops
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering or other related field
  • Knowledge of industry standards, safety standards, and current design codes
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail

Qualifications – Preferred:

Ability to obtain FE/PE certification

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday in accordance with normal business hours.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable):

  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to pass a general background check and Drug/Alcohol screening.
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).

Pay Range:

Approximately $70,000 – $90,000 with opportunity for end-of-year bonus. Exact compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience skills, and location.
