Meter Skid Upgrade

SPEC provided project development, engineering, permitting, drafting, and procurement support for the upgrade of an HVL meter skid to handle increased throughput from the Refinery to a 3rd Party.  SPEC assisted in the definition of the overall project scope, permitting support, design of a new meter skid system (i.e. Coriolis meters, MOVs, removal of prover, etc.), surge & hydraulic analysis, installation of new supports, and installation of new instrumentation.

Tank to Tank Interface Transfer

SPEC provided support for the modification of terminal piping to allow for an existing regular gasoline tank to be used as a pipeline interface swing tank during the interface tank inspection at a distribution terminal.  SPEC designed a new pipe spool piece and isolation valves to allow for tank loading to the load rack at the new swing tank.  SPEC performed 3D laser scanning of existing piping and equipment, stress analysis for new pipe spools,

Professional Engineering Support for LNG Facility

SPEC provided Professional Engineering Services for the civil / structural design of elements of an LNG Export Facility. SPEC served as the Engineer of Record for structural design of the filter house and compressor supporting structures. The equipment was supplied by our client, an Oil & Gas Equipment Supplier and Services Company. We interfaced with the project EPC and local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) regarding their requirements for structural PE-sealed packages for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the local municipality.

New Vapor Combustion Unit (VCU)

Ethanol Blending Project

A major pipeline company’s Northeast, USA Terminal was upgraded to facilitate side-stream blending 10% denatured ethanol into three grades of conventional gasoline (premium, mid, and regular) with the capability to convert to reformulated gasoline. The upgrade involved the installation of a new custody transfer ethanol truck offloading facility, the conversion of a gasoline tank to denatured ethanol service, the installation of the necessary ethanol rack supply equipment and controls, as well as upgrading the rack fire suppression system and the rack spill containment system.
